Abstract
Cybernetics is the science of dynamic, self-regulating systems in nature and technology. In the wake of the invention of computers, robots, the World Wide Web, and video, radio, and satellite technology, cybernetics has given us a valuable collection of things that enable us to live a comfortable life.
Climate change and the consequences of globalization are presenting humanity with unprecedented challenges.
The new political world order, the distribution of resources, and migration will further increase social tensions.
We therefore urgently need cybernetic security solutions that, in conjunction with artificial intelligence (AI), will fundamentally improve security in public life. Public security also includes protecting democracy, which in some countries is threatened by the suppression of freedom of the press and the circulating conspiracy theories and fake news.
The section “Cybernetics yesterday” first describes all the important technical and device-oriented achievements that are a prerequisite for the above-mentioned goals. The development of cybernetics by Norbert Wiener in the 1940s led to a new field of research that focused on the study of control systems, feedback and the control of machines and living organisms.
The section “Cybernetics today” describes the outstanding capabilities of today’s devices (drones, robots and surveillance systems) that can already take on many tasks for our safety.
While research is still being carried out today into why a swarm of fish, insects or birds is more intelligent than the most intelligent animal in the swarm, all attempts to get drones that meet at a site due to an alarm to self-organize and give themselves a command and communication structure in a matter of seconds have failed.
This is the only way to distribute individual tasks, evaluate camera recordings and make decisions with the help of AI and big data.
Until today, the mathematical foundations of how equal drones can give themselves a functioning command structure are still lacking.
Unexpected help comes here from the solution to a hundred-year-old mathematical puzzle.
The third section, „Cybernetics tomorrow,“ focuses on the urgently needed development of drone control, because it will play a major role in our security in the future. Only with the help of AI will ethical rules of conduct for the use of drones come into effect, which can make autonomous decisions on this basis. The safety of all people takes priority. Nevertheless, the local operations manager must be able to correct the decisions of the drone swarm at any time.
The fact that drones are game changers can be seen from the growing importance of Quantensave Cryptohrafie drones in the war in Ukraine and Israel.
It would be the worst of all horror scenarios if killer drones equipped with AI were to come onto the market and spread terror by mercenaries.
That is why weapon-carrying drones that fly over their national or alliance borders must be outlawed by the UN.
In this sense, it would make sense if the development of the control of self-organizing drone swarms would be implemented jointly by as many of the major AI tech giants as possible.
There will be drones from different manufacturers, but they will not be able to fly together if the control software is not standardized.
